Its a Hurricane, but yes.
Not sure if it is a little easter egg/trick of sorts or a bug that comes from the combination of the heavy effects used to generate both the hurricane and trinity blast.

Music In Games: Quick question!

New arrival for the Xbox 360 yesterday.

This is the Hori Flightstick EX2, the spiritual successor to the Ace Edge stick Hori and Namco developed for Ace Combat 6 (which itself was basically a Saitek X52 in white).
I’d have preferred to wait a while to have bought this, but it was the last one available on direct from Amazon UK. I didn’t even know it had been released in the EU.

I’ve only used it once so far, with Ace Combat Assault Horizon which, is actually, not very suited for it (for example, to engage High-G turns in AH, you have to close the throttle completely, which is completely against my flying instincts. Turning bleeds speed and so requires high throttle settings, not low.

I also made the mistake of using it in the style of the F-16 as a sidestick.
The actual F-16 stick IRL is pressure sensitive. It doesn’t move very much in the cockpit, instead it detects how much force the pilot is applying to the stick and reacts accordingly.
An actual moving stick with play in it isn’t so well suited for the sidestick position and should instead be between your legs.
(yes, very cheeky, I know some of you are giggling)

Finally, some video of the more spectacular waves hitting the rocks.

The first 60 seconds of the video were recorded using my cameras high speed video mode, ie, 30 seconds of 60fps recording, played back at 30fps. Basically, smooth slow motion.
When you start hearing sound, its back to normal speed.

And here’s a few of Marsden itself, including Marsden Rock and some big waves.

Skye had his first trip to the coast today, walking along the cliff tops at Marsden, South Shields.

An very welcome clear and sunny day for South Tyneside after the almost non-stop rain of the past few weeks.

how do I view these

do I have to make a DVD

Honestly, I don’t know how you’d normally view them. Haven’t found a way to make them appear in Windows Media Player Classic.

They just appear by default on my Western Digital HD Player, which is connected to my HDTV. All I do is plug a USB Harddrive into it.
I also use the .mkv version of the Onmitsu fansub, so the subtitles are embedded in the video file rather than as a seperate file, but can still be turned on and off.

Of Onmitsu’s ‘hidden’ notes for the J-Decker subtitles.
Or rather notes which don’t normally appear when watching on a computer.

Just a few more that I’ve found in the series, one from episode 18 and two from ep 21. =)

A bunch of screens from a particularly hilarious episode of Brave Police: J-Decker.

These screens are also including notes from the fansub group Onmitsu.
The subbers notes are in the { } brackets

For some reason, the subbers personal notes don’t appear, at least not by default, on some PC/Mac media players and I haven’t been able to figure out how or why.
However, they do appear on my Western Digital HD Media Player connected to my TV, which is how I watch the episodes, so I’ve added them in to the screens.
This is how they appear when I watch them.

Fair warning, some bad language so probably NSFW.

Herein serves an example of why helicopter pilots should never ever  underestimate the effects of flying at high altitudes.

Between the thinner air that the rotors can struggle to ‘grab’ and the reduced engine power available due to less oxygen, this AH-64D was doomed as soon as the pilot completed his wing-over.
About $38 millions worth up in bits and smoke because of a miscalculation and a desire to show off.
For the record, no one was killed in this accident, and no one on the ground was hurt either.

A miracle when you watch more closely at how close the Apache’s tail came to hitting the poor groundie trying to guide him in.


On top of that, this instantly put an Apache out of commission, and these attack helicopters are absolutely vital for providing quick fire support for troops on the ground in Afghanistan.
Although the cost in this case came down to just money (and probably at least one career), it could easily have cost many lives.
Not just the crew in the helicopter or the people on the ground at the base, but elsewhere should the Apache have been needed to support troops who had come under attack. A daily occurrence in the country.

Exactly 14 weeks ago, a little white Shiba Inu puppy was born.
He was named Ladesco Boundless Skye and has been my new buddy for the last 6 weeks.

It’s difficult, and his cuteness in photos belays his naughty, mouthy side (the state of my hands and arms, lol), but time is passing quickly and he’ll grow out of the worst of it soon.
…I hope!

For those not too familiar with pedigree dogs, Ladesco Boundless Skye is his resisted Kennel Club name. Ladesco are the breeders.
His actual name that we use is just Skye.
